For more than a decade, the brand has grown steadily, earning the trust of clients both in China and abroad. Our commitment remains unwavering: every jade piece we offer is 100% natural and untreated—free from dyes, polymers, or any artificial enhancements—ensuring its pure essence and lasting value.

The owner, Mr. Hu Chenghong, is an experienced GIA Graduate Gemologist who has long specialized in the authentication and appraisal of jadeite, providing authoritative assurance of the authenticity and value of every piece.

Mason-Kay Jade Jewelry has been in business since 1976. Our business continues to thrive because we guarantee that the jadeite jade we sell is natural and untreated (free of dyes, polymers, and other treatments.)

Owner Jeff Mason, GIA G.G., is an expert in testing and valuing jadeite jade and has contributed his expertise to multiple prestigious platforms, including International Colored Gemstone Association’s InColor magazine (winter 2020 issue) and Lotus Gemology’s Jade – A Gemologist’s Guide, solidifying his position as a recognized authority in the field.

Jadeite vs Nephrite

There are two gemstones gemologically considered “jade” in the USA: Nephrite Jade and Jadeite Jade, also known as fei cui (翡翠).

Natural Vs Treated Jade

While gem-quality nephrite jade is rarely treated, the vast majority of jadeite jade on the market is treated with a combination of dye and the impregnation of polymer, wax or resin. Be warned of treated jadeite jades, particularly ‘B Jade’ and ‘B+C Jade’ posing as natural ‘A’ jade.

Jade Value by Color

Green is the highest valued color of jadeite jade, followed by lavender. However, it’s important to understand that price is not solely determine by color alone – but also quality factors including translucency, texture and cut.
